Metallic Trend

The metallic trend has been on our radar for quite a while now but over the Summer we were so inspired by the Rio Olympics and Paralympics we thought would gather together a few of our favourite interior ideas and pieces to make us all feel like winners from the comfort of our own homes (crucially, with no physical activity necessary).

The key with this trend is to use accent pieces rather than make it the full-blown focal point of your room. A touch here and there to compliment the existing colour scheme to add some further depth to the space with a mix of materials is always a winning combination.

A number of our wallpapers have metallic pigments in them which creates a beautiful effect when the light moves across the designs throughout the day and picks out different parts of the design.

Here are some of our best bronze, silver and gold finds if you’re looking for inspiration to add a little metallic in your home:

There’s certainly no shame in coming third when bronze is as gorgeous as this drinks trolley from Rockett St George. We love the antique look of the metal and the wheels mean you’ll never be thirsty wherever you are in the house!

We’d happily take bronze when it comes in the form of this amazing bath tub from William Holland. Bubbles in the bath and bubbles in a glass in a bathroom like this is the recipe for heaven.

In second place, we love these mirrored drawers of this bedside table with the silver lamp on top used in a recent client project. The combination of beautiful silks on the headboard and cushions sets off our Free Fall wallpaper (in colourway 03) beautifully. The feather design has subtle metallic pigments in it which are picked up by the changing natural light and make them look like the feathers are really falling.

This giraffe and Acacia tree silver candelabra from Patrick Mavros is the ultimate centrepiece on the dining table of our dreams. Obviously, we have a soft spot for almost anything inspired by wildlife of the African planes but this is really something special.

We’re going for gold with this wonderful Admiral table lamp from Pooky. We think it would look stunning with our Nutcracker wallpaper (colourway 01 pictured) to compliment the gold in the oak leaves and red squirrel hiding in the branches.

These bowls from Suite One Studio would take first place in any kitchen…or dressing table…or literally anywhere. They are so cute and we love the effect of the simple hand painted gold luster design.
