Decorate a Child’s Life
One in four children in London live in poverty and too many in extreme deprivation, sleeping on mouldy mattresses in homes with no heating or hot water. All of this can lead to awful consequences for their education and life choices with emotional and physical side effects too.
The wonderful charity ‘Decorate A Child’s Life’ is the Childhood Trust volunteer programme that has been set up to make a difference to these children’s lives. Projects are found through social services and charities across London’s boroughs. Teams of volunteers go in to deep clean, paint, decorate, hang curtains and shelves to totally transform children’s bedrooms in to a safe and happy environment for them to learn, play and grow.
We are so pleased to now be involved by collaborating with Cramer & Bell, to frame offcuts of our wallpapers and donate full rolls to cover larger wall areas. Below are images of a bedroom transformation we have recently worked on with Katharine Pooley who specified Juliet’s Blossom Tree Mural wallpaper for a girls bedroom, which was installed by the brilliant Jamie Bennett and his team.
Below are a selection of before and after shots of further transformations carried out by The Childhood Trust.
We really look forward to working on many more in due course.
