August - Poppy on Peridot

Poppies painted on peridot green, the birth flower and birth stone for August.

Peridot is a powerful stone that symbolises strength, happiness and good fortune and worn to attract wealth and promote harmony. Best known for its lime-green colour, it can also vary in shade from yellow-green to olive to brown-green. It is both a day stone and a night stone, keeping its shining colour even under artificial lighting. For this reason, it is sometimes called “Evening Emerald”

The vibrant colour of a poppy and crepe paper-like petals make them gorgeous flowering plants that grow abundantly everywhere, especially in Eurasia, Africa, and North America. Its name is derived from the Latin word "pappa," which literally translates to milk because it produces a milky, latex substance when you cut the stems. Poppies have many interesting flower meanings. They universally represent remembrance and are said to help you keep loved ones who passed away closer to your heart.

August babies are thought to be creative, theatrical, and passionate.
